Valerie Hargrave, 81, left her Woolston home in the St John St area about 10.30am on Saturday and has not returned since, police said in a statement.
She was wearing a pink cardigan, is about 167cm tall, and of small build. She walks with a shuffle but is reasonably mobile, a police spokesperson said.
"Her family and police are very concerned about her wellbeing and are urgently seeking any information which will help us find her."
Detective Senior Sergeant Colin Baillie said on Monday police and Valerie's family were very concerned for her wellbeing.
“Given the time that has passed since confirmed sighting of Valerie, her family and police are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare.
"Police Search and Rescue are continuing work today to find Valerie, assisted by volunteers from LandSAR.”
Baillie says it is not believed Valerie has travelled far from the Woolston area and the public can help search for her.
“We’d ask the public to help us by checking in and around your properties, particularly in Woolston and the areas immediately surrounding.”
There will be an increased police presence in Woolston while officers make inquiries and continue looking for her, he said.
Police will assess information about Valerie as it comes in from the public and they remain in contact with the family.
"If you see anything that may help us in the search for Valerie, please contact police via 105, referencing file number 260606/1699."
