The Civil Aviation Authority will be taking no action after two people were injured in a hot air balloon crash in Methven last week.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand said a crew from the Methven station was called to the scene near the domain just before 8.30am on Friday.
"A hot air balloon had crashed and had come down onto the road," a Fenz spokesperson said.
The balloon came down near Churchill Rd.
"There was some injuries for a couple of people, but very minor."
The CAA on Wednesday said it had made initial inquiries looking into factors such as safety risks and the extent of any damage.
"Based on the information we gathered, CAA determined that no further inquiries were warranted, and no further action from us will be taken."
A Facebook poster who snapped a photo just before the crash said "unfortunately the very bottom balloon deflated right as I took this picture".
Up to a dozen hot air balloons took off in the township on Friday morning ahead of Methven's Fire & Ice Hot Air Balloon Glow and Laser Festival this weekend.
Witnesses at a nearby business, who did not want to be named, told RNZ it was lucky no one was badly hurt when the balloon came down onto trees.
"They went up floating away beautifully and next thing you see there the bottom of the basket got stuck on the trees, it went sideways," one witness told RNZ.
The woman said it was a scary sight and emergency services arrived quickly
Fire and Emergency NZ said the hot air balloon had been blocking the road but it had since been moved and firefighters were no longer at the scene.
Methven's Kate Stewart said she was admiring the balloons when one of them deflated just as she took a photo.
"The balloon started to tilt and seconds after I took the photo it deflated and went down. Not long after sirens went off," she said.
Hato Hone St John sent a First Response Unit and PRIME responder to the scene.
Two people were assessed for injuries. One of the patients had minor injuries and was taken to a nearby medical centre.
Members of the public were urged to avoid the area and traffic diversions were temporarily in place.
