Players test out resurfaced courts

Junior tennis players got to test Logan Park’s newly resurfaced courts this week.

The Stevenson Junior Matchplay tournament was played on the courts on Tuesday and yesterday.

Players, aged 17 and under, from Canterbury and below, and one player from Cambridge, competed.

The tournament was the first to be played on the resurfaced courts, tournament director Ahmad Abdul-Rahman said.

The tournament was created as a lead in to the national junior teams competition, which will be played from tomorrow in Christchurch.
