Garden-lovers will have the chance to stock up on tulip bulbs for spring and support Lan Yuan Dunedin Chinese Garden at the same time this weekend.
Lan Yuan Dunedin Chinese Garden Trust chairman Malcolm Wong said between 30,000 and 40,000 bagged-up tulip bulbs would be offered for sale at the Otago Farmers Market this Saturday morning, as a fundraiser for the garden.
"Our tulip sale was a popular annual fundraiser before Covid, but we haven’t held it since then.
"So it’s good to be able to bring it back this year."
Lan Yuan volunteers will be on hand throughout the Otago Farmers Market, offering two varieties of tulips — Hakuun White and Yellow Flight — bagged up into bags of 30 bulbs, and sold for $10 per bag.
The bulbs have been sourced through a supportive local commercial grower, Mr Wong said.
The tulip bulb fundraiser would raise funds towards a variety of projects within Lan Yuan Dunedin Chinese Garden, as well as going towards supporting educational programmes offered by the trust.
