Ashleigh Brown (nee McLellan), 22, Sales Manager, Central Otago
Peter Brown, 25, Drainlayer, Central Otago
When and where did you meet? Peter and I met in July 2006 at a friend's party. After that it wasn't long before we became inseparable.
The proposal: One late Friday night, Peter drove me up to the top of the Alexandra clock hill, knowing this was a special place for me. As we were overlooking Alexandra and the stunning night lights, Peter came around to my side, opened the door and dropped down on one knee. This was an unexpected surprise, but a very special moment which I will never forget.
The wedding: The wedding was held at St Enoch's Church in Alexandra. It was where my parents were married, which made it even more special for us. Peter and I chose to hold the wedding reception at my parents' house on McArthur Ridge vineyard, as the stunning mountain views were impossible to resist and the surrounding vines created the perfect setting for photographs.
The dress: I wore a white taffeta dress which was designed with a corset at the back and gathered at the front. I was lucky enough to find my dream dress online, although I must admit the four-week wait did make me a little anxious. Once the dress arrived it was everything and more than I had hoped for, and thankfully no alterations needed to be made.
The bridesmaids' dresses: The bridesmaids' dresses were a little more difficult to find, as choosing a colour wasn't the easiest task. We finally came across a grape-coloured taffeta dress which worked perfectly with our vineyard wedding theme. Again we purchased these online and they fitted perfectly.
The flowers: The flowers were created from flax by Jasmine Clark of Arrowtown. We decided against real flowers as allergies may have caused a few problems for the majority of the wedding party on the day. The flowers looked amazing with the dresses and the colour schemes. For me the flax flowers are a reminder of my special day and something I will be able to hold on to for many years to come.
The caterers: The wedding was catered for by Orchard Gardens. Nibbles and drinks were served to the guests in the garden before the wedding party arrived and up until the wedding breakfast. The main meal and dessert were served in a buffet style which was organised to fit in well with the arrangement of the tables.
Highlight of the day: The whole day was absolutely perfect, so it's hard to pick one highlight of the day. For Peter and I exchanging our own written wedding vows to one another with our families and friends by our side and being announced as husband and wife was a very amazing moment.
Photographs: We were very privileged to have my talented Aunty Fiona agree to be our wedding photographer. Fiona did an amazing job and managed to make even the most camera-shy people look good.
