The Otago Southland Employers' Association chief executive for almost the past seven years, John Scandrett, has resigned, to pursue other business interests.
OSEA president Andrew Leys announced Mr Scandrett's departure yesterday, saying he had given a ‘‘realistic period of notice'' and would step down in June next year.
‘‘Under John's guidance the association's financial performance has improved year-on-year and as a consequence we're in good shape to deal with forward challenges of all types,'' Mr Leys said.
Before joining OSEA, Mr Scandrett held senior management positions in export-focused organisations and in start-up company formation.
Mr Leys believed it was Mr Scandrett's intention to seek midstream advisory roles in those sectors.
Mr Scandrett was contacted for comment, but declined, until closer to his departure date.
