Fonterra voting opens

Voting is now open for the 2013 Fonterra board of directors' elections. This year there are five candidates standing for the board of directors.

They are Donna Smit, Eric Ray, Michael Spaans and the two incumbent directors, Ian Farrelly and Malcolm Bailey.

Fonterra shareholders can meet director candidates and ask questions during candidate meetings from November 10-15.

Meetings are at the Ascot Park Hotel, Invercargill, on November 10 from 7pm; the South Otago Town and Country Club, Balclutha, from 10.30am on November 11; and the Brydone Hotel, Oamaru, from 7pm, the same day. Voting is also open for the annual meeting resolutions. Shareholders are being asked to vote on five ordinary business resolutions and two resolutions to ratify the appointment of independent directors.

Shareholders can vote via internet, post or fax in respect of the Fonterra elections and annual meeting resolutions until 10.30am on November 25. Shareholders can also vote in person or via proxy for the annual meeting resolutions at the annual meeting on November 27, at the Fonterra Edendale site, Edendale.

Our journalists are your neighbours

We are the South's eyes and ears in crucial council meetings, at court hearings, on the sidelines of sporting events and on the frontline of breaking news.

As our region faces uncharted waters in the wake of a global pandemic, Otago Daily Times continues to bring you local stories that matter.

We employ local journalists and photographers to tell your stories, as other outlets cut local coverage in favour of stories told out of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
