The Golden Fleece Hotel in Waikouaiti is open for business and is not affected by its previous owners facing liquidation.

In a story published in this morning's Otago Daily Times it was incorrectly reported that the Inland Revenue Department had filed an application to place the pub into liquidation.

IRD instead filed an application to place the previous owners of the pub, Golden Fleece 2018 Ltd, into liquidation.

Current owner Gerald Cayford confirmed this morning the pub was open and welcoming customers under Covid-19 Alert Level 2.

Golden Fleece 2018 Ltd no longer has any association with the pub.

Yesterday, Golden Fleece 2018 Ltd's shareholders - Rodney Bowler, Rowena Burgess and Samuel Chin - did not respond for requests for comment.
