In 2015 then health minister Jonathan Coleman replaced the SDHB because of progressively worsening deficits, which sat at $27million and were projected to grow to between $30million and $42million.
As at December 31 last year, the SDHB's year-to-date deficit was $25.9million, $8.3million more than budgeted.

The commissioner team, headed by Kathy Grant, will hold its final meeting on November 28 and hand over to the new board in the first week in December.
Four candidates will be elected to represent the Otago constituency and three to represent Southland.
Dr Poore, who lives in Arrowtown, is standing for Southland.
