Cute and glittery, One Sparkly Christmas Night tells the story of what happens when a shepherd boy follows a shooting star to Bethlehem.

The text is carefully worded and gives parents the option of how much detail they want to add.

Angela Muss' illustrations - full of little knitted lambs and baby-faced angels - are very sweet, though I did wonder why the ''three men'' bringing gifts all look like Santa Claus.

Suitable for ages 2-4.
