Borussia Dortmund footballer Marco Reus has been named as the cover star of 'FIFA 17'.

The 27-year-old German international came out on top after 3.1 million fans across the world took part in a public vote to decide the game's cover star.

Marco has spoken out about how honoured he is to be chosen as the face of the game and vowed to make the fans proud by playing to the best of his ability.

Marco said: "I'm honoured to join a very distinguished group of footballers to appear on the cover of FIFA. Most of all I am humbled that the fans have chosen me, and I will strive to make them proud with my performance on the pitch."

Reus had to beat Manchester United's Anthony Martial, Chelsea's Eden Hazard and Real Madrid's James Rodriguez to be the face of this year's game.

He takes over the honour from Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi, who has been the featured player on the packaging for the 'FIFA' games for the last four years,

'FIFA 17' has made a new addition to the game where for the first time you'll be able to play a cinematic, story-led FIFA mode called The Journey, where you play as a young footballer called Alex Hunter. He's an up-and-coming star who has to break into the first team of a Premier League team of your choice.

'FIFA 17' will be released for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC on September 27.
