City attorney's office spokesman Frank Mateljan says the 33-year-old actor was in court yesterday for a hearing on the three-year restraining order obtained by Rachael Kneeland when the judge ordered his arrest.
He was released on $US75,000 ($NZ98,372) bond about three hours later.
People magazine was first to report the arrest, which came a day after the premiere of "Green Hornet." The movie is in theatres in the US on Friday.
Kneeland and Furlong, the parents of a 4-year-old son, are involved in divorce proceedings.
