Totally Tourism Ltd
Showing tourists New Zealand’s best
A multi-faceted tourism business is devoted to providing privileged access to some of New Zealand’s most extraordinary locations.
Totally Tourism offers a portfolio of interconnected sightseeing and adventure activities.
Since 1999, it has hosted Kiwi and international travellers through its ownership of some of New Zealand’s original sightseeing and adventure activities, including The Helicopter Line, Mitre Peak Cruises, Milford Sound Scenic Flights, Glacier Helicopters, Harris Mountains Heli-Ski, Challenge Rafting, and Alpine Guides.
‘‘The business is founded on hosting our guests like friends, providing friendly and exceptional customer journeys,’’ director and owner Mark Quickfall says.
‘‘The concessions, consents, certifications, and agreements we hold with the Department of Conservation, regulatory authorities, landowners, and others enable us to provide experiences in special, iconic locations.
‘‘We proudly contribute to the local communities that we operate in, helping sustain some remote areas like Milford Sound/Piopiotahi, Franz Josef, Fox Glacier, and Aoraki/Mt Cook as year-round destinations, benefiting tourism across the wider region.’’
Totally Tourism receives exceptional TripAdvisor and Google reviews across all businesses, group marketing manager Nicki Miller says.
Transport World
Putting Invercargill on the tourism map
Invercargill’s tourism triumph continues to impress.
Transport World comprises Bill Richardson Transport World, Classic Motorcycle Mecca, The Lodges at Transport World, The Grille, and Toot Sweets.
The first is the largest privately owned collection of its kind in the world, containing more than 300 vehicles and 150 petrol bowsers, a tea towel collection, wearable art displays, movie theatre, and interactive Lego Room.
The second, the southern hemisphere’s leading vintage motorcycle museum, has 300 motorbikes from all over the world.
Events and conferencing facilities within both collections attract more people to both, Transport World general manager Courtney Russell says.
‘‘Toot Sweets is also Invercargill's destination lolly shop, and The Lodges at Transport World is Invercargill’s only gold Qualmark accommodation in the city.’’
In the 10 years since Bill Richardson Transport World opened, it has transformed tourism in Invercargill. Visitors stay longer or arrive for the first time.
Transport World staff also deliver the George Begg Festival, a four-day biennial racing festival just held for the second time.
‘‘It’s racing like the good old days, and the flow-on effect is massive for the city,’’ Courtney says.
Kiwi Park
Tourism funds conservation projects
A Queenstown tourism destination is delighted to be recognised internationally for its conservation work and visitor experiences.
Kiwi Park is a 2ha home to more than 20 of New Zealand’s most iconic and endangered bird and reptile species, including kiwi, kea, whio, kākāriki, and tuatara.
It is led by Richard Wilson — the third generation of the family that founded it nearly 40 years ago.
Since 2022, trading revenue grew by 375% in one year, a further 100% the following year, and is exceeding expectations year on year.
A milestone was the launch of Luma Enchanted in the winter, attracting thousands of people to a nocturnal walk, operations manager AnthonyWilkins says.
‘‘Kiwi Park’s live wildlife Conservation Show continues to set the national benchmark for wildlife and ecological storytelling.
‘‘Visitor satisfaction and Google reviews have soared.’’
More than 100,000 people visit each year — numbers that help support the breeding
programmes, habitat regeneration, and public awareness.
‘‘Richard Wilson’s leadership fuses entrepreneurial drive with generational stewardship,’’ Anthony says.
‘‘The park is constantly evolving, pushing boundaries in guest experience, technology, and
conservation impact.’’
Altitude Tours
Aiming for the top
Altitude Tours has come a long way in just eight years.
It was founded in 2017 by Heidi Farren and Nigel Hobbs with one van and a mission to
become the world's best wine tour.
The company now operates 12 daily experiences across the Southern Lakes with a
fleet of 15 vehicles and a team of more than 50.
Curated day trips for groups of up to 15 include wine tours, wine and craft beer tours, scenic journeys to Glenorchy and through the Wakatipu Basin, and adventures to Milford
Sound and Mt Cook.
‘‘After earning the title of World’s Best Wine Tour (Tripadvisor, 2021), our mission evolved to become the world’s best day tour company,’’ Heidi says.
Altitude has built strong partnerships with global travel agents and operators, and collected numerous tourism and business awards.
‘‘We aim to exceed expectations and create magic moments that guests remember long
after the tour ends.’’
In October Altitude launched Milford Business Class with RealNZ, designed to elevate the
Milford Sound experience.
Next year the company plans to open Altitude Hot Pools, further expanding its vision to
redefine premium tourism in the region.
