St Hilda’s Collegiate School is proud to present the Guiding Pathways and Strategies (GPS) Symposium: Navigating the Teenage Years on August 18 and 19. The GPS Symposium aims to help all parents/caregivers support the young people in their lives as they traverse the years between childhood and adulthood. The world today’s teenagers are growing up in is very different to that of previous generations – the GPS Symposium will focus on how to support this generation in the world they are living in, with all the unique challenges it brings.

We are bringing together leaders, specialists and experts to share their research, advice and experience on all topics related to raising teens. Topics include: self-harm, neurodiversity, body image,

sexual relationships, consent, cyberbullying, nutrition, sport, future employment, pornography, communication, well-being, spirituality, culture and more.

The event opens on Friday, August 18 at 7pm with a cocktail function sponsored by Rockburn Wines. Broadcaster Stacey Morrison will present her keynote: Cultural Shift and Healing, from Our Generation to Our Kids.

On Saturday, August 19, there will be a full day of seminars, workshops and a panel discussion. The day will open with a keynote from former National MP and former Chief Executive of the Food & Grocery Council, Katherine Rich, who will talk us through her own experiences of raising teenagers and which strategies worked (and didn’t work) for her family.
