We are currently rolling out the COVID-19 vaccine to those in Group 3 of the Ministry of Health’s framework which includes those aged 65 and over, those with relevant health conditions and the Māori and Pasifika community. People in this group can expect to receive an invitation via post, text or email by July 23 to book their vaccination.

The invitations will include details of how to book your appointment online, or via an 0800 number, at a clinic most convenient for you. This is a large cohort of over 100,000 people in the Southern district and we thank you for your patience as we get everyone booked in.

In late July more primary care facilities will be delivering the vaccine to ensure no one is more than an hour away from a clinic. This access will improve further as we continue to scale up over the coming months.

The Ministry of Health will begin sending booking invitations to those in Group 4 aged 60-64 from 28 July. Bookings for this group will not be available in the system until after the bulk of Group 3 vaccinations have been completed in your area - this may be several weeks from when bookings open.

There is enough vaccine for everyone in New Zealand to be vaccinated.
