A crocodile has savaged a young man who jumped into a river in far north Queensland in the middle of the night.
Paramedics were called to the Johnstone River in Innisfail at 2.30am today (local time) and found the 18-year-old with significant injuries to his arm.
Queensland Ambulance supervisor Rita Kelly says he was treated at the nearby Innisfail hospital before being taken to Cairns where he is now being treated.
