Runners pound the pavement during the monthly Leith Harbour Free 5km/10km time-trial run in Dunedin on Sunday.
Organiser Chris Sole said the event went well, with 59 people finishing the route.
There were both 5km and 10km options, and it was suitable for all levels including experienced runners and beginners.
It was the 54th time the monthly Leith Harrier & Athletic Club event had been held, and in that time more than 700 people had registered.
It was a good way to practise for competitions, Dr Sole said.
"It’s an opportunity to measure progress — everybody’s welcome, it’s very inclusive."
