Nineteen applications have been received by the Southern District Health Board for its new public relations and communications manager position.
The successful applicant will be required to develop and implement a public relations strategy supporting the board's strategic plan.
At this stage, the board is not prepared to say when an appointment might be expected for the job, which attracts a salary of about $120,000.
Among the extensive list of "personal competencies" sought for the position, personal qualities and attributes include "highly honed eye for attention to detail", "advanced grasp of the English language and syntax", a sense of humour and someone who is "not afraid to challenge the status quo".
