She loves the ''colour'' of the area, is able to walk everywhere, including to work, the shops and multiple cafes and restaurants, and has rediscovered the library and the Octagon.
''I feel like I'm actually getting value from all the rates I've paid over the years.''
She had everything she needed in her three-bedroom home, with enough space for the family to stay, even a roof-top garden. The main things wanting were residential parking and improved refuse collection.
The eight apartments in her building were all owner-occupied, but she also owned a tenanted apartment in the area as an investment.
In her two and a-half years in the building, she had seen an ''extraordinary'' amount of activity and change in the warehouse precinct, she said.
''This area is mostly owner-occupier and has got a lot more expensive.
''It is changing the dynamic.''
She believed apartments now were being converted to sell for from $350,000 up to $1 million.
''The council really needs to be planning for more of a mixed community living in this area, with older residents and families etc. It's really wonderful.''
