AKA report into an alleged fraud at a National Bank branch in Dunedin this year is expected to be completed and lodged with Dunedin police by December at the latest.
Winton-based Detective Sergeant John Kean was assigned the case in early September by the Dunedin CIB, which preferred an officer outside the area investigate.
His investigation followed the laying of a formal complaint to police by the ANZ-National Bank after an in-house investigation.
Det Sgt Kean said when contacted yesterday "most documents" about the case had been sent to him but he was awaiting delivery of more.
He expected to be in Dunedin later next month to conduct interviews.
Det Sgt Kean said the investigation was focused on the activities of one person while employed at the National Bank, but declined to comment further.
He was confident his final report to Dunedin police would be delivered "well before the end of the year".
It is understood a female bank employee, who has been stood down, is alleged to have been involved in fraudulent activity in the range of $350,000 to $400,000.
