University of Otago PhD candidate Samantha Cook wears upside-down goggles while standing outside a giant brain at the Otago University Brain Health Research Centre yesterday.
During her demonstration, Ms Cook explained how the brain was changeable and could adapt.
"You wouldn’t wear them for that long though; it would drive you nuts."

Otago University Prof John Reynolds (below) said the goggles flipped people’s vision and if they wore the goggles for three days to a week, their brains would flip their vision to be the right way up.

The big brain was brought in to celebrate international brain awareness week.
