An "elated'' Blueskin Resilient Communities Trust manager Scott Willis said that trucking the country's first climate-safe house from Dunedin North to Waitati and placing it on piles by 11.30am had "gone like clockwork''.
He hoped the wooden, relocatable 60sqm eco-friendly home would prove a "game-changer'', showing central and local government how climate change challenges could be met through improved, low-carbon houses.
A collaborative approach with Otago Polytechnic had worked well.
Main construction partner Naylor Love and a mainly female build team had also contributed positively, he said.
