A report on the beleaguered Dunedin City Council-owned companies Delta and Aurora will be released publicly today.

Its release will follow a non-public debate and questioning of the report writer, consultant Deloitte, and council holding company Dunedin City Holdings Ltd,  at a full council meeting.

Mayor Dave Cull said last night the meeting would be non-public because it affected individual people.

"There will be things said about individual people, and the custom is always ...  you do that in non-public."

Deloitte was called in after it was revealed the companies had not maintained electricity infrastructure, leaving thousands of power poles compromised and potentially dangerous.

Two other investigations are under way in relation to those issues.

The Commerce Commission is investigating Aurora for breaching limits on the duration and frequency of system outages or interruptions on its network, and Worksafe is undertaking a safety review of Delta.
