Council selects CEO preferred candidate

A preferred candidate for the Dunedin City Council’s top job has been selected.

Fifty-one people had applied for the role of council chief executive, which became available following the resignation of Sue Bidrose in June.

Sandy Graham has been acting chief executive.

Last night Mayor Aaron Hawkins confirmed a preferred candidate had been picked.

"That’s now subject to standard due diligence processes and contract negotiations, with a formal appointment to be made in due course," he said.

Candidates from across New Zealand and overseas had applied for the role.

Four recruitment companies submitted proposals to work with the council in the search, before Wellington-based JacksonStone & Partners was selected.
