A printed gallery exhibiting the art of high-school pupils from around the region.
On display this week are works from Otago Girls High School.
Picture One:
Alena Plaksina (year 12). Alena's work explores the relationship between the carnival and the landscape. She has referenced the work of American artist Susan Rosenberg and New Zealand painter Gerda Leenards.
Picture Two:
Chiedza Chimhundu (year 12). This work explores the influence of painting on photography. The composition is derived from a historical painting but has been reinterpreted to give it a contemporary meaning.
Picture Three:
Marianne Chia (year 13). Marianne is exploring religious imagery in the visual environment. She has referenced New Zealand photographer Laurence Aberhart and painters from the Renaissance period.
Picture Four:
Petra Fersterer (year 12). Petra created this site specific sculpture as part of the year 12 art programme. She entered this photograph of her work in the Waikato Sculpture Trust Competition, winning second place.
Picture Five:
Rhiannan Steptoe (year 13). Rhiannan is exploring issues of individual identity. She has referenced a variety of photographers who have explored twins as subject matter and Abelardo Morell for his use of projection.

Karishma Grebneff (Year 11). Karishma's assignment was to work with the theme of Kiwiana & Birds in the NZ Landscape.

Sarah Tyrell (year 11). Sarah's assignment was to work with the theme of Kiwiana & Birds in the NZ Landscape.
