Driver trapped in rolled camper van

Fire and Emergency New Zealand staff attend an incident in which the driver of a camper van was briefly trapped inside it after it rolled on State Highway 1 near Waitati yesterday.

Police were called to the scene shortly before 4pm. Fenz vehicles, as well as St John, attended the scene.

A police spokeswoman said the driver appeared to have escaped major injury in the crash.

No other vehicles were involved.

The road was partly  blocked until 5.15pm and traffic was slowed while a clean-up took place.
