Drivers forced to dodge wayward truck

A truck repeatedly crossing the centre-line forced Dunedin commuters to take evasive action this morning.

A police spokeswoman said the truck was first spotted driving erratically on Main South Rd near Fairfield about 7am, before driving on to State Highway 1.

On the highway the truck repeatedly crossed the centre line while travelling towards Dunedin, pushing vehicles towards the median barrier to avoid the truck, she said.

However, there were no reports of crashes caused by the errant truck.

The vehicle was eventually pulled over by police in Kaikorai Valley Rd and the driver was being spoken to by officers about 8am.
