Dual roles for Butterfield

The Timaru-based chairman of the Southern District Health Board will also head a new-look hospital advisory committee, it has been confirmed.

Joe Butterfield is the committee's new chairman, the board decided at a recent closed-door meeting. When contacted, he said it was not uncommon to do both jobs.

Board members were asked their preferences, which were met in the selections, if possible.

Other hospital committee members are Dr John Chambers, Richard Thomson, Tony Hill, Mary Gamble, and Tuari Potiki. Sandra Cook was the new chairwoman of the disability support and public health committee. On that committee were Neville Cook, Kaye Crowther, Tim Ward, Branko Sijnja and

Southern Primary Health Organisation chief executive Ian Macara.
