English television host Dan Lobb visited Dunedin last week to film a special Rugby World Cup segment on the city.

Mr Lobb, a sports editor on ITV show Daybreak, and his four-strong crew spent a day filming in and around the city.

The former professional tennis player and model said he was impressed by Forsyth Barr Stadium and the wildlife around Otago Peninsula. The crew also visited Speight's Brewery.

Footage from the visit is likely to screen to a potential audience of more than 800,000 viewers.

In addition to Dunedin, the crew was visiting several other centres hosting world cup games, such as Christchurch, Rotorua and Auckland.
