Ousted chairman Richard Thomson was again the Otago District Health Board member to receive the most remuneration last financial year.

Mr Thomson, who was replaced by Errol Millar in February, received $45,000 last financial year compared with $49,000 the previous year, the board's annual report shows.

The next highest payment of $33,000 went to deputy chairwoman Susie Johnstone, who received $35,000 the previous year.

She is also deputy chairwoman of the Southland board.

Mr Millar received $32,000 for the year, more than double his 15,000 in 2007-08.

The smallest payments were received by members Helen Algar and Malcolm Macpherson, who each received $24,000.

The amounts paid include travel allowances.
