The Otago Boys High School Foundation's chief executive Steve Davie has resigned, effective from late December.
He said he had achieved the goals he set when he was appointed in 2005, when the foundation was launched.
In the past four years, $1.2 million had been donated to the foundation, scholarships set up, and communication with old boys established through a regular newsletter.
A search has begun for his replacement.
