The week-long programme is organised by Churches Welcome Refugee groups and the Red Cross and includes first aid, volunteering and cultural exercises.
Yesterday, the 20-strong group delivered baking to University of Otago students as part of its ''random acts of kindness''.
Red Cross Dunedin youth officer Sakhr Munassar said part of the programme was to help integrate the former refugee children.
They got on with the others like ''you wouldn't believe'', he said.
Former refugee Ali Sharfo (15) said he made friends during the week and taught the other children Arabic and Syrian card games.
