Speed humps in Dunedin’s Maori Rd have had a bit of a makeover.

The humps, which were installed recently by the city council to slow traffic and improve safety in the area, have met with a less-than-pleased reception from motorists.

A council spokeswoman said the speed humps were checked following construction and it was found three of the five were higher than they should have been. They had since been lowered to meet the standard, she said.

Well hey, maybe if motorists took responsibility for their driving we wouldn't need 'traffic calming' measures.
Funny how poor drivers blame the council for slowing them down. In the meantime.....more speed humps please. I'm not anti-car, but I am anti reckless driving. We need a lot more policing basically.

Buzz have you ever noticed some drivers become reckless some times say hold my beer while the speed through chicanes and speed humps - true story
