
Nadia Wesley-Smith
Nadia Wesley-Smith, who grew up in Otakou and spent her childhood living and working on the marae, has been appointed to the role.
She had extensive hotel management experience, and had worked in the tourism industry in Queenstown and Te Anau, a statement from the runanga said.
She recently completed a bachelor’s degree in applied management, majoring in strategic management.
She was returning home with her partner and two young children.
Ms Wesley-Smith, who will start her new role on May 11, takes over from Michelle Taiaroa-McDonald, who left to head the Otago Maori Centre Te Huka Matauraka at the University of Otago.
