More time for rubbish options survey

The deadline for returning the Dunedin City Council's rubbish and recycling survey has been extended for a second time, after fresh delays delivering the document to rural homes.

Council solid waste manager Ian Featherston said the deadline for returned surveys had been postponed to November 15.

By yesterday, 9500 completed surveys had been returned, while other households in rural areas were only just receiving their theirs, Mr Featherston said.

The response rate to date has amazed council staff.
