Sara Sinclair, a teacher based at the Otago Settlers Museum, has received the national Asia New Zealand Foundation Museum Placement Award for 2010.
This will enable her to work at the Asian Civilisation Museum in Singapore during a six-week placement.
Ms Sinclair (43) was "very excited" about the award, which she hopes to take up about August.
This award, offered by the foundation and Museums Aotearoa, includes funding for an airfare to Singapore, accommodation and living costs for up to 45 days.
