Museum decision delayed

A decision on a restructuring proposal to cut a senior management post at the Otago Museum has been delayed a week.

Museum director Dr Ian Griffin recently gave

the museum's senior management team

a proposal that it be reduced from four to three.

It is understood he suggested disestablishing the post held by museum collections, research and experience director Clare Wilson.

At the time, he said he would announce his decision tomorrow. Yesterday, he informed staff by email he was still ''receiving feedback on the proposal, and will be doing so for the rest of this week''.

Dr Griffin said he expected ''to complete the consultation process and confirm the final structure'' next Thursday.
