Planning has begun for the next annual Museums Aotearoa Conference, which will be held at the Otago Museum next year.
The planning aimed to ensure it was a ''successful event'', museum officials said in a recent report to the Otago Museum Trust Board.
Otago Museum director Dr Ian Griffin had made a presentation to the Museums Aotearoa Board meeting in Wellington, and he had gained approval to move ahead with the proposed conference theme of ''Communicating Culture'', the report said.
The three-day event will begin on May 6 next year, and follows a recent move by the museum to rejoin the museums' national body, having previously not been a member for some years.
