Mrs Pryde, an organiser, said 200 dogs had been entered in the show, to be held at the park until Monday.
She had been competing, showing and breeding dogs for 40 years.
It would be Rip’s first show.
‘‘Wee Rip is going to have his debut and, hopefully, he will at least do what he’s supposed to do.
‘‘And if he wins the ribbon, that’s a bonus.’’
Judges were arriving from Finland and New South Wales, she said.
