A search is continuing for a Dunedin man who led police on a chase north of the city yesterday.
Police officers and dogs from Oamaru and Dunedin were called to Palmerston to try to catch the 41-year-old.
Senior Constable Stefan Witehira, of Palmerston, said a vehicle stolen from Brighton early yesterday was found at a Palmerston address. The offender ran off through neighbouring properties, discarding cell phones into a drain as he went, Snr Const Witehira said.
He said despite their best efforts, police were unable to find the man.
The man was described as 190cm in height, european, skinny and was last seen wearing dark coloured trousers and a dark coloured t-shirt.
