Norfolk St in the Dunedin suburb of St Clair is being upgraded.
The carriageway in the section of the street between Bedford and Valpy Sts would be completely replaced over the next month, Dunedin City Council senior contract engineer Chris Hasler said.
The work was scheduled on the council's renewals programme and the rest of the street had been improved several years ago.
