Accidents were the order of the day on wet roads around Dunedin yesterday but fortunately no-one was hurt.

Inspector Kevin Lloyd, of Dunedin, said one car came to rest on its roof on Portobello Rd.

Emergency services were called at 1.37pm and traffic was down to one lane for about 30 minutes.

Station officer Cameron McLachlan, of Dunedin City Station, said it was the only vehicle in the accident and the cause was unknown.

A St John spokeswoman said an ambulance attended but nobody was taken to hospital.

• Mr McLachlan said the crew also attended a three-car crash at the intersection of Prince Albert Rd and Bay View Rd in South Dunedin about 2.30pm yesterday.

The cause of that crash was also unclear.

''It's a bit of a tough one to work out, but someone has ploughed into the side of another car.''

Nobody was injured, he said.

• A Toyota sedan rolled and came to rest on its roof in Brighton Rd, Brighton, about 4.30pm yesterday, Senior Sergeant James Ure said.

The car was being driven down a driveway when it hit a kerb and rolled, Snr Sgt Ure said.

The driver had escaped uninjured, he said.
