Search over firearm in South Dunedin

Police are continuing their inquiries after reports of a person with a firearm sparked a search in South Dunedin last night.


Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond said officers were called to Richmond St at 5pm after reports of a person waving a pistol around.

The Armed Offenders Squad was called out and cordons were set up at Richmond and Surrey Sts.

However the person and firearm had not yet been located, Snr Sgt Bond said this morning.
