A person sustained serious injuries when they were hit by a car in North Dunedin this afternoon.
A police spokeswoman said they were called to North Rd near the Opoho Rd intersection about 2.30pm.
The circumstances were unclear but police had been speaking to the driver and there was nothing to indicate it was a hit-and-run, the spokeswoman said.
St John spokesman Gerard Campbell said ambulance officers took one patient to Dunedin Hospital in a serious condition.
