Otago's youngest artistic talent was on display for all to see at the Otago Art Society’s youth art awards last night.

Otago Art Society president Doug Hart said up to 400 artworks from children aged 5 to 15 had been entered into the awards. Children were not given a set theme or any constraints to contain their art,so there was a huge amount of creativity on display, Mr Hart said.

An awards ceremony was held last night and prizes were given to the top four in the 5-7, 8-10, 11-13 and 14-15- year-old categories.

A prize was also given to the best school.

The artwork will be on display at the Dunedin Railway Station until October 7.
