Police say a car reported stolen this week could be the same vehicle involved in a hit and run in central Dunedin.
An elderly woman was left shaken after the car she was driving was hit by a silver Subaru Impreza at the corner of George St and Moray Pl on Tuesday.
Her car was badly damaged and she was tended to by ambulance staff.
The offending car was driven off at speed through the Octagon and south along Castle St.
Senior Sergeant Liz Waru said the vehicle was taken from Ajax St, St Kilda.
The owner of the vehicle noticed the vehicle missing on Wednesday morning.
At the time of the crash, the vehicle was believed to be displaying a stolen licence plate.
