When was the last time you went to a tea party?
Toroa Radio will be getting rid of the men for a couple of hours this Sunday (Valentine's Day) to host a special ladies only tea party.
Toroa Radio 1575 AM (formerly Hills AM) has been in operation since 1990 as a community access radio station. Their aim, to get real people from the community broadcasting their own content on the radio.
They have approximately 90 organisations and individuals who regularly broadcast with them, ranging from religious groups, to schools, to social service agencies, to regular Joe's who want to have a bit of fun playing their favourite music.
Sadie Andrews has been a programme maker and volunteer with Toroa Radio, almost since its conception.
She has hosted a few radio shows, such as Nutrician Mood, First and Foremost and The Ladies Hour.
This Sunday, she will be talking about her experiences over the years, as a lady in radio.
There will also be discussions on what women want to hear on the radio, as well as information on how to get involved.
All women are invited, so if anyone is interested, call 471 6161 or head down to Community House, 301 Moray Place, Dunedin at 2.30pm on Sunday 14 February.
