Tours of campus offered

University of Otago is opening the doors of Dunedin campus buildings to the public on Saturday as part of the city's Heritage Festival.

Guided tours of the university clocktower building start at 11am and 3pm; a tour of other less well known campus buildings starts at noon; and a health sciences tour, including the Dental School and Anatomy Museum, starts at 2.30pm.

All university open day tours start in the Link building, which joins the University Union and the central university library. It has a main entrance in Cumberland St, facing the Otago Museum Reserve.

Celebrated New Zealand architect Ian Athfield will also discuss community and heritage during the New Zealand Historic Places Trust RA Lawson public lecture at the university's St David St lecture theatre at 7.30pm on Friday.
