An official fundraising page has been established to support the family of murdered Dunedin teenager Amber-Rose Rush, after an unauthorised page was placed online for a short time on Monday.

Givealittle customer care manager Mel Steel said an unauthorised Givealittle page was removed on Monday night and any donations made to that page would be refunded.

''Moderation of the Givealittle page you are referring to has been declined and the page can no longer be accessed.''

Miss Rush's sister, Shantelle Rush, has since established an official Givealittle page - https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/funds-to-help-amber-roses-family.

It is titled ''Fundraising to help out at this tough time'' and clearly states: ''This is the official page, made by Shantelle Rush, Amber's big sister''.

She said it was set up to give people who wanted to support the family an opportunity to help with the costs of ''everything surrounding Amber's unexpected passing''.

''Funds will be used for extra funeral costs, money to help mum move house and supporting her and the family as much as possible.''

So far, the page has raised more than $3000 for the family.

Tributes for the 16-year-old continue to flood social media from across the country.
