A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said crews from Roslyn and Dunedin were called to the scene after someone reported smoke in the building.
However, on arrival they found a fog cannon in the store had accidentally gone off. Firefighters stayed to clear the building of fog, then left the scene.
